About this tour

Berlin - once divided into East and West. But how and where was the border? What did the border strip look like? Why were there two walls? Where can you still see the remains of the Berlin Wall? What has changed since then?
We follow the wall trail and start at Checkpoint Charlie, once a famous border crossing for allies, foreigners and diplomats. Next we see the remains of the wall.
A new city within the city has emerged at Potsdamer Platz. The Holocaust Memorial is located where border guards once patrolled. The Brandenburg Gate, once the symbol of German division and now of reunification. We end with a look at the “East Side Gallery”, the longest part of the wall still standing and the largest open-air gallery worldwide.
